Visco Foam

Visco foam was created by NASA. Its original purpose was to take pressure off the bodies of astronauts as they were leaving the Earth's atmosphere during takeoff in a space shuttle. After all the work NASA put into developing visco foam, they decided not to use it.

Visco foam had such awesome qualities, that many mattress manufacturers started to use the phone to make beds out of. Being developed by NASA came with an expensive price tag. Because of this expensive price tag many people could not afford beds containing Visco foam. However, throughout the years the price has dramatically decreased allowing the average person to be able to afford a bed made from Visco foam.

If your bed is tattered and torn, and you think it's time to get yourself a new bed, there is hope that you do not have to spend a ton of money sleep better. Now mattress companies are coming out with toppers, that go over the top of your mattress. They come in thicknesses starting at about 1 inch all the way up to about 4 inches. You simply place the foam mattress topper over your bed, then place mattress protector over it, then put your sheets on and you're good to go.

A memory foam mattress topper, does not always fix your old bed. It is however worth a shot because they are so much less expensive than buying a whole new mattress. You can pick up visco foam mattress topper's from your local area retail stores such as Wal-Mart, Target, Kohl's, Kmart. Your average mattress topper starts at about $100 and range up into the thousands, depending on how much money you want to spend to try and save your mattress.

Visco Elastic Foam

Many mattress companies today are specializing in a product fairly new to the market, known as viscoelastic foam. This coalescing foam is not ordinary foam. It is a much denser foam, and is able to support pressure points in bed while you were sleeping.

Its ability to support specific areas of your body while you were sleeping, allows for a much better night sleep when you can get from a traditional mattress. Many doctors are turning their patience towards viscoelastic foam mattresses because of this ability.

If you wake up aching in the middle of the night, or if you're tossing and turning all through the night, viscoelastic foam may be the route you should consider taking to getting a better nights rest. Viscoelastic foam uses the heat from your body to heat itself, and as it heats itself it allows your body to slowly sink into it forming almost in the exact mold of your body.

Sleeping in your own mold helps keep yourself from tossing and turning, or constantly rolling over trying to find the perfect position to sleep in. A viscoelastic foam mattress while lasting much longer than a traditional mattress, and does not need to be flipped periodically either. So if you're in the market for a new bed, give a viscoelastic memory foam mattress a chance, and he will not be disappointed.
